An der Sasper Kehle
Śnieżna
History
Around 1940, the street An der Sasper Kehle — so named because it lay along the watercourse connecting Sasper See (Saspe Lake) with the Tote Weichsel (Dead Vistula) — was renamed Gustav-Nachtigal-Straße. After the war there were some mix-ups with this street. The first maps and street directories list this street as ul. Słowińców (Slovincian Street), and the former Lünette Knesebeck as ul. Śnieżna (Snow Street). However, this was probably an error, because today they are named exactly the other way around: the former Gustav-Nachtigal-Straße is ul. Śnieżna, and the Lünette Knesebeck is ul. Słowińców.
