Jakobstorgasse

Przybramna

History

This street was only created after the demolition of the fortifications, and yet has already had several names. In 1898, the properties between Hansaplatz and Schüsseldamm were counted as part of Jakobsneugasse. Then, between 1898 and 1903, this section was called Jakobstorgasse. From 1904 it was finally Am Jakobstor. In 1904, the stretch between Hansaplatz and Pfefferstadt, which until then had been called Karrengasse, was also added to this street. After the war, this street continued to exist under the name ul. Przybramna (At the Gate). Between 1960 and 1966, the eastern part of the lane was merged with the Wallgasse (ul. Wałowa) — which translates to Wall Lane. The western part, on the other hand, was converted into a parking lot with access from Paradiesgasse (Rajska).
