Kagelzippel

n. e.

History

The name comes from Kagel or Kogel = hood and Zippel = tip, and meant the same as the modern cul-de-sac or the former Kehrwiedergasse (Turn-Back Lane). Kageltympe is the original form of this designation. In old Danzig, two lanes were so designated: the later Old Town St. Catherine's Church Path and the Right Town Junkergasse (at the beginning of the 19th century, only its northern part).
