Kleine Kehrwiedergasse
n. e.
History
A small passage branching off from Böttchergasse was called Kleine Kehrwiedergasse in 1776, later simply Kehrwiedergasse. This name was once again meant ironically — in standard German it means dead-end street. After the war the lane still existed for some years under the name ul. Zawrotna (Turn-around Lane) before disappearing in the course of the Old Town's redevelopment. The Große Ölmühlengasse was also called this from 1511 to 1624. Likewise the Mauergang around 1796, and the Herrengarten in the 18th century until 1817.
