Schlossgasse

Zamkowa

History

The lane led directly from the Hakelwerk to the bridge over the outer moat of the Teutonic Order castle, which continued into the street at the Schneidemühle (sawmill). Although the name Schlossgasse is only documented in the land register since 1624, it was likely already in use for a long time before that.

In the 17th century, the name Schlossstraße (Castle Street) was occasionally also used for what is today Burgstraße.
