Schützengang

On maps since around 1656, the alley appears as "Stinkgang" (Stink Alley). Later it was regularly listed as "Großer Stinkgang" (Great Stink Alley) to distinguish it from the identically named Logengang. Since 1877, the alley has borne its present name Schützengang (Marksmen's Alley), after the shooting house property located there.
